Event Date:
Wednesday, June 28, 2017

The 2nd webinar in our May-October 2017 PIM Webinars series will take place on June 28, 11:00 AM EST. Mark Rosegrant, Director of the Environment and Production Technology Division at the International Food Policy Research Institute, will summarize findings from a recent analysis of the impacts of alternative agricultural investment options on global objectives such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the CGIAR’s System Level Outcomes in the coming decades.

Investments considered include agricultural research to increase productivity, improved soil and water management, and improved infrastructure to reduce marketing costs. Outcomes relating to poverty, food and nutrition security, and natural resource management are examined under the different investment scenarios in the context of changes in population, income, technology, and climate to 2050. This study is intended to help national and international research and development institutions and their partners to assess the future impacts and benefits of alternative agricultural investment strategies.
